Job summary

Smithfield Foods, Inc. is seeking a Feed Delivery Driver to operate a feed truck in Tarboro, NC. You will transport materials to mills and farms, perform pre/post-trip inspections, and maintain accurate logs and shipping documents.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED, preferred.
• Meet DOT requirements.
• At least 21 years of age.
• No DUI/DWI or reckless driving convictions in the last 10 years (CMV) or 3 years (Non-CMV).
• No more than one moving violation in the last 3 years.
• Current valid CDL issued from one state.
• Knowledgeable of FMCSR.
• 1-year CDL experience desired or 3rd party training.
• Must pass a DOT Physical on hire.
• Feed delivery experience preferred.
• Able to read and speak English.
• Understand highway signs and signals.
• Team-oriented and able to work in fast-paced environments.

Responsibilities

• Successfully complete a Road Test and be issued a certificate.
• Pre-Trip and Post-Trip inspections.
• Work in single driver environment.
• Handle shipping documents to ensure accuracy and timely submission.
• Position equipment to offload feed into bins.
• Drive day/night in various climates and traffic.
• Use on-board computer.
• Maintain logs, DVIR, itinerary, and other paperwork.
• Fuel equipment and extract on-board computer daily.
• Pre-load trailer for next shift.
• Use maps or GPS to avoid getting lost.
• Communicate with business associates to resolve issues.
• Calculate simple math for feed delivery.
• Comply with Bio-Security (BMS) and EMS rules.
• Comply with DOT rules and policies.
