Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Operate CDL-required vehicles, including dump trucks and trailers weighing over 26,000 lbs.
• Haul equipment, pipe, materials, and debris to/from job sites.
• Load, unload, and secure loads using chains, straps, tarps and other tie‑downs.
• Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections; complete required documentation.
• Maintain driver logs when required.
• Assist crew with labor duties including digging, shoveling, and site preparation.
• Perform heavy lifting up to 75 lbs regularly.
• Work in various weather conditions and job site environments.
• Follow safety policies and maintain awareness in the work area near utilities.
• Provide routine maintenance on trucks (grease truck) as needed.
• Perform duties as assigned to support crew production.

CDL Dump Truck Driver Gas Distribution

Job Description/Position Summary

The CDL Driver – Gas Distribution will be assigned to a crew and assist in the installation, repair, and replacement of underground natural gas pipelines and related services. This position consists of approximately 20% CDL driving duties and 80% laborer duties.

This is a physically demanding role that requires working in outdoor construction environments while supporting gas distribution pipeline construction, maintenance, and repair. The individual will be responsible for operating CDL-required vehicles while also performing general labor tasks and supporting the crew as needed.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

• Operate CDL-required vehicles including dump trucks, trailers, and equipment haulers over 26,000 lbs
• Haul equipment, pipe, materials, and debris to and from job sites
• Load, unload, and secure materials using chains, straps, tarps, and other tie‑down methods
• Perform daily pre‑trip and post‑trip inspections and complete required documentation
• Maintain driver logs when required
• Assist crew with labor duties including digging, shoveling, and site preparation
• Perform heavy lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs on a regular basis
• Work in various weather conditions and job site environments
• Follow all safety policies and procedures while maintaining awareness in the “red zone”
• Necessary maintenance on truck (grease truck) if needed.
• Perform duties as assigned by supervisor to support overall crew production and efficiency

Qualifications:

• Valid CDL-A or B Driver’s License (required) (no restriction)
• Minimum 1 year CDL driving experience
• Minimum 1 year heavy labor experience
• Valid DOT Medical Card (or ability to obtain)
• High School Diploma or GED (preferred)

• Ability to safely operate CDL vehicles in close proximity to workers and utilities
• Ability to properly secure loads and operate hauling equipment

Employment Requirements:

• Valid Drivers License and Reliable Transportation
• Must provide documentation to verify identity and employment eligibility in accordance with federal I-9 requirements

• Willingness to travel and work in different areas as needed

• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and perform physical labor
• Ability to work overtime and extended hours based on workload
• Must be 18 years of age

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 75 lbs regularly
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and perform physical labor for extended periods
• Ability to work in demanding outdoor construction environments
