Job Overview:

Technical Environmental Services, a site development contractor, is looking for an experienced site construction dump truck driver to move our equipment from project to project, hauling construction materials to our various construction projects.

The primary function of the dump truck driver is to drive a tri-axle or lead dump truck with a capacity of at least 26,000 GVW to haul equipment and/or materials. There will be exposure to dust, fumes, high and low temperatures, slippery surfaces, low-lit work areas, heavy traffic, and high noise levels. The driver may be required to drive in hazardous conditions, including weather, tight quarters, and inner-city locations. Compliance with all DOT, company, and safety policies, procedures, and practices is required at all times. The driver may be subject to confined spaces. This job requires a minimum of a CDL class A license. This is a non-exempt, full-time position.

Day Shift: 7:00am – 5:00pm. Saturdays as needed.

Primary Job Duties:

1. Transport equipment and/or materials from point of pickup to point of disposal in a safe and efficient manner while following all safety protocols.
2. Work on construction sites as needed in various capacities.
3. Maintain logs of working hours and vehicle service and repair status, following applicable state and federal regulations.
4. Work with dispatch to calculate the most efficient and effective route.
5. Inform dispatch and safety of any DOT fines, citations, or any other relevant issues.
6. Communicate with dispatch regarding any potential customer issues such as complaints, spills, leaks, incidents, accidents, injuries, and vehicle issues.
7. Communicate vehicle issues and needs to maintenance immediately.
8. Keep the truck clean and orderly at all times.
9. Demonstrate professionalism; be courteous and friendly to customers at all times.
10. Follow company quality, safety, and environmental guidelines.
11. Ability to drive both manual and automatic transmission vehicles in various road conditions throughout Michigan and surrounding states.
12. Maneuver trucks into loading and unloading positions, checking that vehicle position is correct and any special loading equipment is properly positioned.
13. Responsible for general maintenance of the truck, including but not limited to checking oil and fuel levels.
14. Complete all “pre-trip” requirements before each truck run and “post-trip” requirements at the end of each shift.
15. Ability to push and pull 146 pounds, lift 50 pounds, and climb a ladder with 3 rungs regularly throughout the shift.
16. Ability to operate Smart Logix computer system or similar.

Qualifications / Experience / Education:

1. Valid CDL class A license is required.
2. 3+ years of truck driving experience preferred.
3. Pass pre-employment DOT physical, drug screen, Clearinghouse verification, and 7-year criminal background check.
