Job summary

Smithfield Foods is seeking candidates for a CDL training program. Trainees will complete a 5-7 week training, learn to drive safely, deliver feed, and load/unload with animal welfare as a priority. This role requires compliance with DOT rules and a clean driving record.

Preference given to those with a high school diploma or GED, a valid Class A CDL, and 21+ years old. Flexibility for nights, weekends and holidays is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED, preferred.
• Current Class A CDL.
• Previous driving experience preferred.
• At least 21 years old.
• Acceptable driving record.
• Ability to obtain a DOT medical card upon hire.
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule (nights, weekends, and holidays).

Responsibilities

• Successfully complete a 5-7 week training program.
• Follows required and recommended safety procedures while driving, delivering feed or loading and unloading with animal welfare being the foremost concern.
• Complies with all DOT rules and regulations.
• Reports all accidents promptly through proper authorities.
• Complies with all rules set forth by the receiving agent.
