Job summary

Smithfield Foods is offering a CDL training program for aspiring drivers in our Iowa operations. Trainees will complete a 5-7 week program, learn safe driving practices, and gain experience delivering feed and loading/unloading with animal welfare as the top priority.

You must be at least 21, have a valid Class A CDL or permit, and a clean driving record. A DOT medical card will be required after hire.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED, preferred.
• Current Class A CDL or permit.
• Previous driving experience preferred.
• At least 21 years old.
• Acceptable driving record.
• Ability to obtain a DOT medical card upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Complete a 5-7 week training program.
• Drive and deliver with safety and animal welfare as priority.
• Comply with DOT rules and regulations.
• Report accidents to proper authorities.
• Follow rules set by the receiving agent.
