Gerdau North America in Roanoke, VA is seeking a CDL Class A Roll Off Driver to operate diesel trucks and trailers, pick up and deliver steel products, and ensure DOT compliance on every trip. The role emphasizes safety, accuracy, and customer service as you work in outdoor conditions.

The ideal candidate holds a valid Class A CDL (Tanker/HazMat a plus), with at least 9 months of relevant driving experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Valid Class A CDL with Tanker and HazMat endorsements a plus.
• Minimum 9 months experience operating large mobile equipment.
• Comfort using smartphone and GPS technology.
• Knowledge of traffic regulations and load restrictions.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Flexibility to work in various weather conditions.
• Strong customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate diesel straight trucks and tractor/trailers (roll-off, dump, and van).
• Pick up and deliver steel products and materials to suppliers and customers.
• Follow DOT procedures and maintain compliance at all times.
• Read invoices and shipping tickets; keep logs and trip reports.
• Assist with loading/unloading and secure loads properly.
• Maintain professional relationships with customers and vendors.
