Job summary

GFL Environmental in Texas is hiring a Recovery Technician to safely load, secure, and transport cargo while ensuring compliance with all safety standards. You will perform inspections, manage vital documents, and communicate clearly with customers and teammates to ensure on-time deliveries.

The role requires a High School diploma, Class A license, and Tanker Endorsement, plus strong organizational and written/oral communication skills.

Qualifications

• High School diploma required.
• Class A commercial driver's license required.
• Tanker endorsement required.
• Strong oral and written communication abilities.
• Ability to lift 75+ lbs and work outdoors.

Responsibilities

• Safely load, secure, and transport cargo in compliance with regulations.
• Conduct pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections for vehicle and load safety.
• Complete and maintain logs, manifests, and bills of lading.
• Follow transportation, hours of service, and safety regulations.
• Maneuver vehicles for loading/unloading and position equipment correctly.
• Report defects, incidents, and delivery issues promptly.
• Communicate effectively with customers, coworkers, and supervisors.
• Deliver products on time while maintaining clean, safe work areas.
• Provide training and perform additional duties as assigned.

What You'll Do

• Safely load, secure, and transport cargo in compliance with all applicable regulations and safety standards.
• Conduct pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle and load safety.
• Complete and maintain required documentation, including logbooks, manifests, and bills of lading.
• Follow legislation related to transportation, hours of service, dangerous goods, and workplace safety.
• Maneuver vehicles for loading/unloading and ensure proper equipment positioning.
• Report vehicle defects, incidents, and delivery issues promptly.
• Communicate effectively with customers, coworkers, and supervisors.
• Deliver products courteously and on time, maintaining clean and safe work areas.
• Provide training and perform additional duties as assigned.

What's Required

• High School diploma minimum.
• Class A license.
• Tanker Endorsement required
• Demonstrated organizational skills with strong oral and written communication abilities.
• Exceptional organizational abilities with task prioritization, multi-tasking, use of timelines and time management techniques.
• High level of personal integrity.
• Professional/mature demeanor under stressful situations.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Will be required to work both indoors and outdoors.
