Job summary

GFL Environmental Inc. is seeking a Recovery Technician in Texas, Elgin. You will load, secure, and transport cargo, perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections, and complete required documentation to ensure safety and compliance.

Role requires a Class A license and tanker endorsement, plus strong organizational and communication skills. Overtime and weekend work may be needed, with opportunities for growth within Team Green.

Qualifications

• High School diploma minimum.
• Class A license and Tanker Endorsement required.
• Excellent communication skills under pressure.
• Ability to lift 75+ lbs and work outdoors/indoors.
• Overtime and weekend work may be required.

Responsibilities

• Safely load, secure, and transport cargo in compliance with regulations and safety standards.
• Conduct pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections for vehicle and load safety.
• Complete and maintain required documentation (logbooks, manifests, bills of lading).
• Follow transportation, hours of service, dangerous goods, and workplace safety laws.
• Maneuver vehicles for loading/unloading and ensure proper equipment positioning.
• Report vehicle defects, incidents, and delivery issues promptly.
• Communicate effectively with customers, coworkers, and supervisors.
• Deliver products courteously and on time, maintain clean work areas.
• Provide training and perform additional duties as assigned.

What you'll do:
