Job summary

Crystal Clean seeks a CDL A Driver to support our environmental waste services team in California. The role emphasizes safety, on‑time performance, and hands‑on driving of Class A trucks, with roll‑off and Vac‑Tanker experience preferred.

You will complete daily logs, adhere to DOT regulations, and work with field laborers in a team environment. Valid Hazmat/Tanker endorsements, HAZWOPER, and clean driving record are required; English literacy and punctuality are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Valid California Class B CDL with Hazmat and Tanker endorsements.
• HAZWOPER 40-hour training completed.
• 2–5 years of heavy equipment driving experience.
• 1–5 years of hazardous waste control experience preferred.
• Read and write in English.

Responsibilities

• Operate Class A trucks and assist field laborers in a team setting.
• Load and unload trucks; perform manual labor on site.
• Maintain daily logs and reports per DOT requirements.
• Ensure proper placarding and safety compliance.
• Follow OSHA and DOT requirements; observe safety guidelines.
• Complete paperwork accurately daily.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Commercial driver experience.

• Previous Hazmat experience.
• Roll-off experience.
• 120-barrel Vac-Tanker experience.
• Ability to operate manual transmission.
• Previous manual labor experience.
• Well organized.
• Lab-Pack / Loose Pack, Waste segregation experience.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Punctual, on-time.

• Valid Class A CDL
• Hazmat and Tanker endorsement.
• Ability to use various mobile devices.
• Perform physical functions per job requirements.
• Successfully complete a background check, drug test, and physical, by position.
• Per OSHA's Respiratory Protection Standard, 29 CFR 1910.34, employees in positions requiring respirators are required to meet facial hair standards.
• Read and write in English.
• Properly fill out and complete necessary paperwork daily with no errors.
• Understand and use ELD.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Ensure Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes and always acting in a safe manner.
• Operate commercial trucks and assist field laborers when needed (team atmosphere where everyone helps)
• Operate a variety of Class A trucks.
• loading and unloading trucks.
• Manual labor on site to ensure fulfillment of customer needs.
• Proper placarding of vehicles to meet Company and DOT requirements/regulations.
• Maintain daily logs, time sheets, and various reports.
• Safely operate vehicles in accordance with U.S. DOT, local, state (provincial) and federal requirements.
• Safely observe all corporate operating guidelines and procedures.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Good attitude.

EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND REQUIREMENTS

• High school diploma or equivalent highly preferred.
• Current California Class B Commercial Driver License, required. Class A preferred.
• Driving record that meets company standards and current DMV printout, required.
• Hazmat and Tanker endorsement, required.
• 40-hour HAZWOPER required.
• 2-5 years of experience in heavy equipment driving and operation required.
• 1-5 years of hazardous waste control and environmental services industry experience preferred.

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS

• Pull/push 50 lbs. unassisted on a frequent daily basis.
• Twist and turn in full range of motion in arms, hands, torso, neck, back, and legs on a frequent daily basis.
• Lift/carry 50 lbs. unassisted on a frequent daily basis.
• Typing/data entry on a frequent daily basis
• Equipment used: industrial cleaning and heavy equipment
• Exposed to all environmental temperatures and weather conditions.

Salary Range: $32.00- $35.00
