Job summary

Northern Illinois Food Bank is hiring a CDL A Driver for our West Suburban Center in Geneva, IL. This full-time role involves safe pickup and delivery of food and related products, maintaining vehicles, and ensuring accurate paperwork and compliance with safety regulations.

The position emphasizes professional conduct, timely deliveries, and excellent customer service to support our mission of feeding neighbors in need across Northern Illinois.

Qualifications

• 21 years of age or older with a valid CDL A Driver’s License and DOT Medical Card.
• 2+ years of driving experience with a clean driving record.
• Experience operating a 10-speed manual transmission truck.
• Subject to random drug screen program.
• Able to be certified on powered industrial lift trucks.
• Ability to read and write in English and perform simple mathematical calculations.

Responsibilities

• Pickup food and related products at donor locations and deliver orders to participating agencies.
• Operate vehicle safely and professionally following all laws and internal policies.
• Perform daily safety and maintenance inspections of trucks/trailers and report issues.
• Keep assigned vehicles clean and organized.
• Assist with loading/unloading trucks/trailers as needed and manage paperwork such as driver's daily logs and trip reports.
