Bob Smith Plumbing in Pompano Beach, FL is seeking a CDL A Driver / Field Support Technician. This dual role operates our CDL vehicles and directly supports job sites as part of the field crew.

You will be responsible for safe vehicle operation, material handling, and on-site setup while contributing to overall project efficiency. The role demands a valid Class A CDL, 1+ year of CDL driving, and a willingness to work hands-on beyond driving.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL is required.
• 1+ years of Class A CDL driving experience.
• Manual transmission and roll-off truck experience preferred.
• Current DOT medical certificate, or ability to obtain one before start date.
• Clean driving record; MVR check required.
• Ability to pass a DOT pre-employment drug and alcohol test.
• Willing to work hands-on as a field technician, not just drive.
• Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate all CDL-required vehicles per DOT regulations.
• Transport equipment, materials, and crew to and from job sites per dispatch.
• Conduct DOT-compliant pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and log daily.
• Comply with DOT hours-of-service regulations at all times.
• Work alongside the field crew on active job sites: setup, material handling, and staging.
• Handle material delivery, unloading, and on-site organization.
• Support site cleanup and securing equipment at the end of each shift.
• Return vehicles clean, fueled, and ready for next dispatch.
• Report vehicle incidents, damage, or mechanical issues immediately.
