Position Summary
The primary function of a delivery driver is to safely and efficiently operate a commercial motor vehicle in compliance with company policies together with Federal and State regulations and deliver all freight undamaged. Work as a team player to deliver, load/unload materials while providing a world‑class customer service experience.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Inspect truck/trailer for defects to ensure safe operation. Safely load building materials onto flatbed or boom truck and unload products at commercial and residential job sites.
- Deliver materials to assigned areas as directed by the customer while prioritizing personal safety and the safety of those around you.
- Maintain records required for compliance with State and Federal regulations.
- Report all accidents involving driver or company equipment. Have stamina to lift heavy building materials up to 100+ lbs. for load/unload. Demonstrate excellent customer service skills and professional attitude.
Basic Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED.
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL). Minimum Class B license; Class A preferred.
- Clear three‑year Motor Vehicle Report (MVR).
- Overall knowledge of Department of Transportation regulations.
- Core competencies: Integrity, servant leadership, valuing diverse perspectives, humility, and a positive attitude.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and on a team; ability to lead, execute and/or delegate as needed, and collaborate to get the job done.
- Self‑management skills – show initiative, be proactive, and drive results.
- Professional communication skills, both verbal and written, to coworkers and customers.
Physical Requirements
- Remain stationary while driving a commercial vehicle 40% of the time.
- Lifting heavy building materials up to 80 lbs. for loading/unloading.
- Frequent movement of materials weighing up to 80 lbs. while unloading from a flatbed.
- Operate a commercial vehicle or boom vehicle and position oneself to unload materials.
- Judge distance while delivering materials and operating a boom.
- Communicate with management and coworkers to exchange accurate information in these situations.
- Constant outdoor work while making deliveries.
