Job summary

US Foods Champlain, NY is seeking a delivery driver who will be dispatched from the Champlain yard. You will drive to customers, unload products, verify accuracy, and handle payments as needed. Drivers are home nightly and enjoy a comprehensive benefits package.

Starting wage is $31.19/hour, increasing to $36.71/hour after training, with additional retention bonus opportunity and benefits such as 401K, medical coverage from day one, and weekly pay.

Qualifications

• Register to the FMCSA Clearinghouse.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Must have valid CDL Class A with endorsements and DOT qualifications.
• Minimum of six months commercial driving experience (any industry) or three months in food/beverage delivery.
• Manual transmission preferred; may be required in specific locations.
• Must be able to read and communicate in English.

Responsibilities

• Safely drive trucks to customers and meet scheduled delivery times.
• Unload products from the trailer using a two-wheeler, pallet jack, or by hand and place in customer storage areas.
• Verify delivery accuracy with customers and obtain signatures.
• Handle collections and payments from customers when applicable.
• Provide professional customer service to enhance the client experience.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip equipment inspections.

Driver Schedule

THIS POSITION DISPATCHES FROM OUR CHAMPLAIN, NY YARD

Monday through Saturday - (Potential for flexible 5 day or 4 day work weeks, available based on business needs)

Drivers dispatch between 3:00 AM - 7:00 AM, depending on route and schedule, until completion.

Deliveries are made Monday - Saturday. Saturday delivery routes may be assigned as part of your schedule.

Main Ingredients of the Job:

• Safely drive trucks to customers and meet scheduled customer delivery times.
• Carefully unload products from the trailer with a two-wheeler, pallet jack, or by hand and place in designated customer storage areas.
• Verify accuracy of delivery with customers and obtain proper signatures.
• Handle collections and payments from customers when applicable.
• Professionally perform customer service responsibilities to enhance our client experience.
• Perform all pre-trip and post-trip equipment inspection.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift/carry/push/pull 20 to 80+ lbs. of product repetitively during each shift required.
• Comfortable driving and working in inclement weather conditions with frequent stops (10+ per shift) required.

What You Bring to the Table:

• Register to the FMCSA Clearinghouse*.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Must have valid CDL Class A issued by the state of legal residence with necessary endorsements and DOT qualifications.
• Minimum of six months commercial driving experience (any industry) OR three months commercial driving experience in the food and/or beverage delivery industry required.
• Ability to operate manual transmission preferred; may be required in specific locations.
• Must be able to read and communicate in the English language - able to hold a conversation, to understand highway traffic signs and signals, to respond to official inquiries, and to enter information on reports and records.

Compensation depends on relevant experience and/or education, specific skills, function, geographic location, and other factors as applicable by law. The expected base rate for this role is between $31.19 and $36.71
