Job summary

United Rentals, the world’s largest equipment rental provider, is seeking a Class A CDL Driver in New York to deliver equipment to customers safely and on time. Home every night, you’ll be a company ambassador with a focus on exceptional service.

Responsibilities include drop-offs/pickups, operating trucks, maintaining logs, and inspecting equipment, while upholding safety standards and DOT regulations. Join us for growth and rewards.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL with acceptable driving record.
• 2+ years DOT regulated Commercial Driving Experience.
• Superior customer service, teamwork and communication skills.
• Ability to lift up to 45 lbs.
• Basic knowledge of construction equipment and safe driving procedures.
• Diligent attention to safety.

• Operate semi-trucks and trailers per CDL-A
• Follow Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations
• Maintain driver logs and complete pre-trip inspections
• Suggest additional equipment and supplies to customers
• Perform other duties as assigned

What You’ll Do

• Drop off and pick up equipment for customers
• Operate construction equipment, such as semi-trucks and trailers ("low boys") consistent with DOT classification CDL-A
• Adhere to all safety requirements particular to equipment including Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations
• Maintain driver’s logs and complete pre-trip inspections
• Suggest additional equipment and supplies customers may need
• Other duties assigned as needed

Requirements

• Valid Class A CDL with acceptable driving record
• High School Diploma or GED
• Minimum of 2 years DOT regulated Commercial Driving Experience
• Superior customer service, teamwork and verbal/written communication skills
• Ability to frequently lift items up to 45 lbs
• Basic knowledge of construction equipment and safe driving procedures
• Diligent attention to safety

This position is deemed Safety Sensitive for purposes of United Rentals’ policies and procedures.
