Job summary

Sierra Forest Products is seeking a CDL A Driver (Local) in St. George, UT. This full-time onsite role involves operating a tractor trailer, loading/unloading premium wood products, and ensuring safety and regulatory compliance while delivering outstanding customer service.

Qualifications

• A valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL A) is required.
• At least 3 years of licensed driving experience on the road.
• Clear Abstract/MVR report with no major violations.
• Customer-focused approach to delivering wood products.

Responsibilities

• Operate a tractor trailer and possibly a straight truck as needed.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections and document findings.
• Maintain daily logs and driver compliance documents.
• Fill reports such as logs, inspections, and incident reports.
• Safely load, secure, and unload products; manage curtain trailers.
• May operate a forklift or Moffett when required; assist warehouse teams.
• Provide excellent customer experience and support drivers on route.

Requirements

Your Role & Impact:

• Operate a tractor trailer; potentially straight truck as needed
• Ongoing and continuous learning and development; including forklift certification
• Comply with applicable legislation including safety operation, carriage of goods, driver's hours, occupational health and safety, and applicable traffic laws
• Perform pre/post-trip vehicle inspection to ensure mechanical, safety and emergency equipment meets our rigorous safety standards
• Maintain daily logs, inspection logs and other necessary driver compliance documentation
• Fill reports such as driver logs, inspection reports (pre-trip, enroute, post-trip), maintenance and repair reports, and incident reports
• Perform all aspects of truck and trailer load securement
• Physically capable of opening and closing curtains on the trailer
• Safely load and unload premium quality wood products for our customers
• May be required to operate a forklift and/or Moffett.
• Safely lift material up to 75 pounds
• Provide excellent customer experience
• Other duties as assigned.
