Job summary

Pro Resources is seeking a CDL Class A Truck Driver for a client in Middlebury, IN. You will transport trucks and trailers to local growers’ farms for loading live ducks and return them safely to the processing facility in Middlebury.

Shifts run Monday through Friday from 9:30 PM to 10:00 AM. The role involves working with a helper and farm personnel, handling trailer setup, loading, and basic maintenance tasks. Teamwork, reliability, and animal welfare awareness are essential.

Qualifications

• Must possess a valid CDL Class A license.
• Poultry experience preferred.
• Strong communication skills are essential.
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
• Understanding and practice of animal welfare policies.

Responsibilities

• Plan and complete an efficient delivery and pickup route.
• Maintain basic vehicle logs and deliveries.
• Perform routine vehicle maintenance reporting issues to supervisor.
• Assist with loading/unloading ducks and assets as needed.
• Adhere to all plant rules and animal welfare guidelines.

Job description

Pro Resources is seeking a CDL Class A Truck Driver for a client in Middlebury, IN. In this role, you will transport trucks and trailers to local growers’ farms for the loading of live ducks and safely return them to the processing facility in Middlebury. Drivers work alongside a company helper and farm personnel to prepare trailers and assist with the loading process. Most drivers and helpers complete approximately two loads per day. This position is ideal for a dependable driver who enjoys a hands-on role and working as part of a team.

Shift and Compensation Monday-Friday 9:30 PM-10 AM Pay : $28 / hour

Job Duties

• Plans and complete an efficient delivery and pick up route for the day.
• Maintains basic records of truck mileage and deliveries made.
• Ensures that the truck receives basic service according to maintenance schedule; reports larger service needs and mechanical issues to supervisor.
• Assists in general duties when delivery route is completed.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
• Walk/carry ducks on to truck and off the truckLoad the appropriate number of ducks into each pen on the trailer.
• Open and close pen lids on trailers.
• Assist in barn set up and ramp set up/adjustments.
• Assist driver in backing semi/trailer onto farms and to ramp.
• Clean and wash trailers.
• Do whatever is needed to help support the trucking department or overall live production.
• Follow all plant rules and regulations when in the processing plant.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement, teamwork, and high standards in employee performance and safety.
• Understand and follow our animal welfare policy.
• Other duties as assigned by management

Background Profile

• Not afraid of heights - comfortable working on top of trucks and ramps.
• Ability to lift 40 pounds.
• Understand and practice good Animal Welfare
• Posses a CDL Class A
• Poultry experience preferred
