Job summary

United Rentals is seeking a Class A CDL Driver to meet trench safety needs by delivering equipment safely and promptly. You will interact with customers, serve as a company ambassador, and be home every night since we’re local. Responsibilities include drop-offs/pickups, log maintenance, and upselling equipment to customers.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL with acceptable driving record.
• Superior customer service and teamwork skills.
• Ability to frequently lift items up to 45 lbs.
• Knowledge of safe driving procedures and DOT regulations.

Responsibilities

• Drop off and pick up equipment for customers.
• Operate construction equipment including semi-trucks and trailers.
• Maintain driver's logs and perform pre-trip inspections.
• Suggest additional equipment and supplies to customers.
• Operate boom trucks and cranes per manufacturer specs.
• Adhere to safety requirements per regulations.

What You’ll Do

• Drop off and pick up equipment for customers
• Operate construction equipment, such as semi-trucks and trailers "low boys" consistent with DOT classification CDL-A
• Maintain driver's logs and complete pre-trip inspections
• Suggest additional equipment and supplies customers may need
• Must also be able to operate boom trucks and cranes in accordance with manufacturer specifications
• Adhere to all safety requirements particular to equipment including Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations
• Other duties assigned as needed
  

Requirements

• Valid Class A CDL with acceptable driving record
• High School Diploma or GED
• Minimum of 2 years DOT regulated Commercial Driving Experience
• Superior customer service, teamwork and verbal/written communication skills
• Ability to frequently lift items up to 45 lbs
• Basic knowledge of construction equipment and safe driving procedures
• Diligent attention to safety
