Job summary

United Rentals in Houston, TX is seeking a Class A CDL Driver to drop off and pick up equipment, operate trucks and cranes, and uphold safety standards while delivering exceptional customer service.

You will maintain logs, perform pre-trip inspections, and stay compliant with federal regulations. This role offers reliable home time, a path for professional growth, and a supportive benefits package.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid Class A CDL with acceptable driving record.
• Minimum 2 years of DOT-regulated commercial driving experience.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to lift and handle items up to 45 lbs and follow safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Drop off and pick up equipment for customers.
• Operate construction equipment including semi-trucks and trailers.
• Maintain driver’s logs and complete pre-trip inspections.
• Suggest additional equipment and supplies to customers.
• Operate boom trucks and cranes per manufacturer specs; comply with FMCSA rules.

What you'll do:

• Drop off and pick up equipment for customers
• Operate construction equipment, such as semi-trucks and trailers ("low boys") consistent with DOT classification CDL-A
• Maintain driver's logs and complete pre-trip inspections
• Suggest additional equipment and supplies customers may need
• Must also be able to operate boom trucks and cranes in accordance with manufacturer specifications
• Adhere to all safety requirements particular to equipment including Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations

Requirements:

• Valid Class A CDL with acceptable driving record
• High School Diploma or GED
• Minimum of 2 years DOT regulated Commercial Driving Experience
• Superior customer service, teamwork and verbal/written communication skills
• Ability to frequently lift items up to 45 lbs
• Basic knowledge of construction equipment and safe driving procedures
• Diligent attention to safety
• This position is deemed Safety Sensitive for purposes of United Rentals’ policies and procedures.
