Job summary

McLane Company, Inc. is seeking a CDL-A Delivery Driver in Houston, TX, to move and deliver products to our customers. This role features third-shift overnight work with local, home-daily routes and a start on the extra board with route bidding after six months.

Benefits begin on day one including medical, dental, and vision insurance, FSA/HSA options, company-paid life insurance, and paid holidays. A 401(k) profit sharing plan after 90 days is also offered, along with additional perks.

Qualifications

At least 21 years of age.
Valid Class A CDL.
At least 1 year or 50,000 verifiable miles of tractor-trailer driving experience.
Must meet McLane’s MVR and risk rating qualifications.
Ability to read, write, and understand English at a functional level.

Responsibilities

Inspect tractor-trailer for defects pre/post trip and submit DOT inspection report.
Inspect bill of lading and store keys for accuracy during off-hour delivery.
Drive tractor-trailer to destination, applying regulatory knowledge and maneuvering skill.
Maintain driver log according to DOT regulations; document delivery receipt and temperatures.
Unload trailer and deliver product to customer sites.
Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

What You’ll Do As a CDL-A Delivery Driver

Inspect tractor-trailer for defects pre/post trip and submit DOT inspection report indicating condition.
Inspect bill of lading and store keys for accuracy in off-hour delivery.
Drive tractor-trailer to destination, applying knowledge of commercial driving regulations and skill in maneuvering vehicle on the road and on customer premises.
Maintain driver log (Manual or Peoplenet) according to DOT regulations, documenting delivery receipt, product temperatures and exceptions.
Unload trailer, delivering product into customer premises.
Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications You’ll Bring As a CDL-A Teammate

At least 21 years of age
Valid Class A commercial driver's license (CDL-A)
At least 1 year or 50,000 verifiable miles of tractor-trailer driving experience
Must meet McLane’s MVR and risk rating qualifications
This position requires the ability to read, write, and understand English at a level sufficient to perform job-related tasks effectively and safely. This includes understanding work instructions, safety protocols, and communications essential to the role. The requirement is directly related to the nature of the job and ensures compliance with workplace safety and operational standards.
