Job summary

American Iron & Metal (AIM) in Erie, PA is seeking a skilled CDL-A driver to join our Transportation team. You will transport metal materials safely between client sites and AIM facilities, with local runs and opportunities for out-of-state work based on qualifications.

You must hold a clean CDL-A with medical, be comfortable with 18-speed manual transmissions and tarping 40- and 53-yard bins; prior experience with flatbed, roll-off, lugger, or open-top trailers is preferred.

Qualifications

• CDL-A license with a clean MVR and Medical card.
• Prior experience with metal transport or similar loads preferred.
• Ability to perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections.

Responsibilities

• Operate a Class A vehicle to transport metal materials between sites.
• Safely load/unload and secure loads with proper equipment.
• Local routes with potential for out-of-state runs.
• Complete accurate delivery records and perform tarping when needed.

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and professional CDL-A Driver to join our Transportation team. You will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of metal materials to and from client sites and other AIM facilities.

What you’re responsible for:

• Operatinga Class A commercial vehicleto transport metal materials to and from designated locations, ensuring compliance with traffic laws and company policies
• Safely loading and unloading metal materials onto the truck using appropriate equipmentand secure the load to prevent shifting or damage during transit
• Local runs, with opportunities for out of state runs depending on qualification and availability
• Performing manual tarping if necessary
• Performing routine pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the truck, ensuring that it is in good working condition
• Completingaccurate and thorough records of deliveriesand any other required documentation

To join our team:

• You have a valid CDL A driver's license with a clean MVR and Medical
• You have experience driving 18 speedmanual transmission (required)
• You have a minimum of 2years of experience as an CDL-A Driver
• You have experience with flatbed, roll-off, lugger, or open top trailer
• You are physically fit and able to hand tarp 40 and 53yd bins
• You are familiar with metal recycling processes and materials (an asset)
• You can perform loading and unloading activities as required
