Job Title: CDL A Driver (Open)
Location: Anchorage, AK - Arctic Spur - Filing Industrial
Overview
Airgas is hiring a Bulk Driver in Anchorage, AK. Drive bulk gases (Liquid Oxygen, Liquid Nitrogen, Liquid CO₂, etc.) and cylinders across regional routes, operating tractor‑trailer with tank, flatbeds and dry vans.
Responsibilities
- Maintain courteous and professional relationships with customers.
- Upload, deliver, and download gases to customers' vessels safely.
- Provide timely communication to distribution manager or customer salespeople regarding any changes.
- Perform pre‑ and post‑trip vehicle inspections and advise on needed repairs.
- Travel to remote areas of Alaska, resolve issues such as airline problems, plug tires, remove tires, and maintain trucks.
Requirements
- Valid Class A CDL or B CDL with HAZMAT, Tanker & Airbrake endorsements.
- Mechanical aptitude to fix truck components (e.g., air lines, plug tires).
- Willingness to drive a manual transmission.
- Maintain Alaska driver's license, medical card & endorsements.
- No more than two traffic convictions or two at‑fault accidents in the last 3 years (or a combination of one conviction and one accident).
- No driving under the influence of alcohol or controlled substances within the last 7 years.
- Work in a drug‑free environment.
- Be able to lift 75 lbs and move more than 125 lbs with aid of material handling equipment.
- Minimum 2 years verifiable CDL A driving experience in the last 5 years.
Preferred Qualifications
- 2 years of tanker experience.
