US Foods, Inc. is seeking a CDL A Delivery Driver in Norwich, CT. The role involves delivering products safely, unloading with limited equipment, verifying deliveries with customers, and maintaining professional service.

Expect pre- and post-trip inspections and potential account-related tasks. You’ll start at $35.76 per hour with $40.24 after 6 months, receive weekly pay, and a $5,000 retention bonus for eligible hires.

Formación

• Must hold a valid CDL Class A with required endorsements and DOT qualifications.
• 6 months of commercial driving experience (any industry) or 3 months in food/beverage delivery.
• Able to read and communicate in English.

Responsabilidades

• Safe driving to deliver products to customers in a timely and safe manner.
• Unloading products using a two-wheeler, ramp, or by hand; 100% touch freight.
• Delivery verification with customers and securing signatures.
• Provide professional customer service to enhance customer experience.
• Conduct pre- and post-trip inspections to uphold safety standards.
• Handle account management tasks as applicable and perform other duties as assigned.

The CDL A Delivery Driver role goes beyond simply transporting goods - it’s about perfecting the craft of delivery, earning trust mile by mile, and serving as a vital link to our customers.Key ResponsibilitiesSafe Driving: Deliver products to our customers in a timely and safe manner.Unloading: Skillfully unload products efficiently using a two-wheeler, ramp, or by hand, placing them in the designated storage areas – 100% touch freight.Delivery Verification: Verify deliveries with customers & secure signatures.Customer Service: Provide professional service to enhance customer experience.Equipment Inspection: Conduct pre- & post-trip inspections to uphold safety standards.Account Management: Handle collections and payments when applicable.Adaptability: All other duties assigned by management.Physical RequirementsLift/carry/push/pull/lower 20 to 80+ lbs. of product repetitively during each shift required.Driving & working in inclement weather conditions with frequent stops (10+ per shift) required.Comfortable working in a multi-temperature environment as low as 0 degrees.Continuously grasp objects & manipulate objects. Frequently sit, stand, walk, drive, climb/balance, stoop/squat, kneel/bend, bend, reach above shoulder, twist, and use manual dexterity.QualificationsRegister to the FMCSA Clearinghouse*Must be at least 21 years of age.Must have valid CDL Class A issued by the state of legal residence with necessary endorsements and DOT qualifications.Minimum 6-months commercial driving experience (any industry) OR 3-months commercial driving experience in the food and/or beverage delivery industry required.Ability to operate manual transmission preferred; may be required in specific locations.Must be able to read and communicate in the English language - able to hold a conversation, to understand highway traffic signs and signals, to respond to official inquiries, and to enter information on reports and records.About US FOODSClick here to learn more!*Registering to the FMCSA Clearinghouse is a requirement by the Department of Transportation.
