Job summary

McLane Company, Inc. is seeking an experienced CDL-A Delivery Driver for Rocky Mount, NC. The role involves safe operation, on-time deliveries, and handling documents at customer locations.

You will inspect equipment, manage logs, and unload shipments, with a Monday–Saturday schedule and Sundays off in some routes. Comprehensive benefits begin Day 1, including medical, dental, vision, and more.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid Class A CDL (CDL-A).
• Minimum one year of tractor-trailer driving experience (or 50,000+ miles).
• English reading/writing proficiency sufficient for safety and instruction comprehension.

Responsibilities

• Inspect tractor-trailer before/after trips and complete DOT inspection reports.
• Review bills of lading and store keys for accuracy during off-hour deliveries.
• Drive tractor-trailer to destinations, ensuring compliance with regulations and safe handling at customer sites.
• Maintain driver logs per DOT rules and document deliveries, temperatures, and exceptions.
• Unload trailers and deliver product to customer premises.
• Other duties as assigned.

What you’ll do as a CDL-A Delivery Driver:

• Inspect tractor-trailer for defects pre/post trip and submit DOT inspection report indicating condition.
• Inspect bill of lading and store keys for accuracy in off-hour delivery.
• Drive tractor-trailer to destination, applying knowledge of commercial driving regulations and skill in maneuvering vehicle on the road and on customer premises.
• Maintain driver log (Manual or Peoplenet) according to DOT regulations, documenting delivery receipt, product temperatures and exceptions.
• Unload trailer, delivering product into customer premises.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications you’ll bring as a CDL-A Teammate:

• At least 21 years of age
• Valid Class A commercial driver's license (CDL-A)
• At least 1 year or 50,000 verifiable miles of tractor-trailer driving experience
• Must meet McLane’s MVR and risk rating qualifications
• This position requires the ability to read, write, and understand English at a level sufficient to perform job-related tasks effectively and safely. This includes understanding work instructions, safety protocols, and communications essential to the role. The requirement is directly related to the nature of the job and ensures compliance with workplace safety and operational standards.
