Job summary

Gordon Food Service in Houston is seeking a CDL A Delivery Driver to deliver food products to restaurants, schools and hospitals with local routes and home every day. You will unload cases up to 100 lbs and use a ramp and two-wheeler throughout the shift.

Schedule: Monday–Friday, start 3 AM–5 AM until route finish. Pay: average $65,000–$90,000/year with a guaranteed minimum, plus per-mile, per-stop and per-delivery pay. Benefits start day one, weekly pay, and 401(k) with company match.

Qualifications

• CDL-A license required at hire (class A).
• 1–2 years driving experience preferred.
• Must be 21+ years old.
• Able to read, write and communicate in English.
• Clean driving record as required by DOT.
• Drug test and background check required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver food products to customers on local routes.
• Build relationships with customers and ensure service quality.
• Unload cases up to 100 lbs; operate ramp and two-wheeler.
• Follow safety procedures and DOT regulations.

CDL A Delivery Driver

Location: 11303 Antoine Dr, Houston, Texas 77066

Do you have a passion for driving? Are you looking for more home time? Picture yourself as a delivery driver with Gordon Food Service! In this position, you will be building relationships with customers while delivering food products essential to restaurants, schools, hospitals, universities, and more. Day shifts and local routes mean you’ll be home every day. You’ll be required to unload cases up to 100 lbs, and you’ll be using a ramp and two-wheeler throughout your shift. Pay: Drivers average $65,000 - $90,000/year Guaranteed minimum of $1,250/5 day week Daily base pay, plus component pay Paid for every mile driven, stop made, and case delivered

• Does this look like you? At least 21 years of age
• Class A CDL License at hire
• 1-2 years of driving experience
• Ability to operate a two-wheel cart with loads of up to 350 pounds
• Ability to lift up to 100 lbs throughout the shift
• Must be able to read, write, and communicate in English (to read labels, pick lists, scanners, signage, company website information related to benefits, updates, complete paperwork, and follow verbal instructions)
• Successfully pass a drug test that will assess drug usage (including marijuana) and a background check
• Clean driving record; as required by DOT and Gordon Food Service standards
• You must be registered through the Department of Transportation Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse and provide electronic consent in order to be considered for employment with us effective January 6th, 2020.
