Job summary

Universal Logistics Holdings, Inc. in the Detroit area is seeking CDL Class A drivers to operate a tractor-trailer, delivering freight for local and regional customers. You will perform pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections and ensure DOT compliance throughout the trip.

Roles include Monday–Friday schedules with potential weekend work, home daily, and 50–60 hour weeks. Health, dental & vision benefits after 90 days, plus PTO and paid holidays are offered.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• 6 months of verifiable tractor trailer experience in the last year.
• Clean driving record with proven safe-driving history.
• No DUI/OWI in the last 5 years; no more than 2 moving violations in the last 3 years.
• No more than 2 preventable accidents in the last 3 years.
• Strong time management & communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate a Class A commercial vehicle to transport freight to and from customer locations.
• Conduct pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections of the truck and trailer.
• Follow all DOT regulations, safety procedures, and company policies.
• Secure and handle freight properly (loading/unloading may be required).
• Maintain accurate logs, delivery records, and documentation.
• Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and other team members.
• Report mechanical issues or safety concerns promptly.
• Adhere to schedules while practicing safe driving habits.
