Job summary

Universal Logistics is actively seeking qualified contractor drivers to join our nationwide operations. You will operate a Class A commercial vehicle, perform required inspections, and ensure on-time deliveries for both international and domestic freight.

Home daily with a 5:00am–5:00pm dayshift, light touches on some lanes, and a full benefits package. Rates are flat per load, with potential weekly earnings up to $1,800. Reimbursement for TWIC and paid time off included.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• 6 months of verifiable on the job experience in the last year.
• Clean MVR with no more than 2 moving violations in the last 2 years.

• Perform pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections.
• Follow DOT regulations, safety procedures, and company policies.
• Secure and handle freight and maintain logs and delivery records.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Operate a Class A commercial vehicle to transport freight to and from customer locations.
• Conduct pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections of the truck and trailer.
• Follow all DOT regulations, safety procedures, and company policies.
• Secure and handle freight properly (may include loading/unloading depending on the employer).
• Maintain accurate electronic or paper logs, delivery records, and documentation.
• Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and other team members.
• Report mechanical issues or safety concerns promptly.
• Adhere to schedules while practicing safe driving habits at all times.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Prior intermodal experience preferred but not required
• Class A CDL Hazmat preferred. Universal will reimburse if interested in obtaining.
• 6 months of verifiable on the job experience in the last year
• Clean MVR - no more than 2 moving violations in the last 2 years
