The CDL A, CDL B, or Non CDL Delivery Driver is responsible for assisting DC management in efficiently carrying out warehouse operations, which include, but are not limited to, order fulfillment, receiving and stocking materials, customer deliveries, warehouse organization, and inventory maintenance.
Responsibilities / Duties :
- Deliver goods to customer-specified sites using company transport vehicles as needed.
- Confirm delivery information with the customer before departure from the warehouse.
- Load and unload goods at each site safely and securely, utilizing provided equipment if available.
- Ensure loads are properly secured prior to transport.
- Pick up goods from suppliers as requested by DC management.
- Unload and receive stock replenishment materials into the warehouse.
- Store received goods according to company receiving policies.
- Report any damaged goods during receiving.
- Maintain clear and safe passage in all warehouse aisles and loading docks.
- Report unsafe storage and equipment issues immediately to DC management.
- Assist in order entry via computer sales order programs, if needed.
- Pick materials to fill orders in an organized manner using pick tickets.
- Perform quality control checks to ensure the accuracy of shipped goods.
- Assist in physical inventories and cycle counting.
- Provide excellent customer service.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
- Follow all safety guidelines, including DOT, OSHA, and company policies.
- Participate in safety training and maintain required certifications.
- Perform other duties beneficial to IDI as assigned.
Qualifications / Skills :
- Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and shrink wrappers.
- Identify product numbers and alpha/numeric codes.
- Meet physical requirements of the position.
- Use and learn computer order entry and inventory systems.
- Achieve set goals promptly.
- Maintain a valid CDL Class A Driver's License.
- Train others as needed.
Education and / or Experience :
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- At least 1 year of warehouse experience preferred.
- 2-4+ years of experience operating commercial vehicles, including straight box trucks, preferred.
- Forklift experience preferred.
- Meet all DOT, state, and legal requirements pertinent to this position.
