Job summary

NTMWD is seeking a dedicated transporter to support the Wastewater Department by hauling dewatered biosolids and related materials to disposal or reuse sites. The role emphasizes safety, regulatory compliance, accurate reporting, and effective communication with plant staff and dispatchers.

The position requires a Texas Class A CDL and at least three years of CDL-vehicle operation experience, with a strong emphasis on safety and environmental procedures.

Qualifications

• Candidates must communicate effectively, both written and verbal, with supervisors, peers and subordinates.
• Maintain basic computer skills associated with the position.
• Possess skill in managing emotional responses to maintain professionalism and composure in challenging situations.

Responsibilities

• Operates hauling vehicles, including roll-off trucks, to transport wastewater biosolids safely and efficiently.
• Performs daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections, identifies safety hazards, and maintains equipment readiness.
• Loads and unloads biosolids at designated sites in accordance with safety and environmental procedures.
• Ensures compliance with EPA, DOT, TCEQ, TxDOT and local hauling regulations and record-keeping requirements.
• Completes daily logs, manifests and transport reports as required by policy and regulators.
• Communicates schedules, routes and emergencies with plant staff, site operators and dispatchers.
• Reports equipment malfunctions or unsafe conditions to supervisors.
• Assists with routine maintenance of vehicles and operations as assigned.
• Participates in safety training and certifications relevant to hauling and wastewater operations.
