Job summary

Datavant is seeking a CDQI Audit Specialist to evaluate the quality, accuracy, and compliance of CDI reviews, offering education and performance monitoring to improve the CDI program. The role supports clinical documentation integrity and revenue integrity across the organization.

Responsibilities include conducting audits, providing feedback, and collaborating with physicians for accurate DRG-based reimbursements.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of CDI experience and/or auditing.
• 3+ years of clinical experience in an academic medical center.
• RN or BSN with CCDS or CDIP certification.
• Must pass CDI skills competency assessment.
• Experience with EMRs and CDI software (Epic, Cerner, 3M, Iodine).
• Strong organizational, teamwork and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct retrospective and concurrent audits of CDI work to ensure accurate documentation and compliant query generation.
• Review missed opportunities impacting reimbursement and quality reporting; collaborate with physicians for appropriate reimbursement.
• Evaluate staff adherence to workflows, policies and industry standards.
• Maintain audit tools, scoring methodologies, and audit documentation.
• Provide individualized feedback and education plans based on audit findings.
• Mentor new CDQI staff and deliver educational presentations on documentation and regulatory updates.
