Job summary

Datavant in Kentucky is seeking a Clinical Documentation Quality Improvement (CDQI) Audit Specialist to evaluate CDI reviews, ensure accurate documentation, and identify opportunities for education and process improvement. The role is full-time and located on-site in Kentucky.

You will audit CDQI staff, provide feedback, mentor new hires, and deliver trainings on documentation, coding, and regulatory updates while safeguarding PHI and complying with HIPAA.

Qualifications

• 5 years of CDI experience and/or auditing.
• 3 years of clinical experience in an academic medical center.
• RN or BSN with CCDS or CDIP certification.
• Must pass CDI skills competency assessment.
• Experience with EMRs and CDI software (Epic, Cerner, 3M, Iodine).

Responsibilities

• Conduct retrospective and concurrent audits of CDQI Specialists' work for accuracy and compliant query generation.
• Review missed opportunities affecting reimbursement and patient outcomes; collaborate with physicians.
• Maintain audit tools, scoring methods, and documentation.
• Provide feedback and education plans based on audit findings.
