Job Description

This salary range may include several career levels at Valley Medical Center and will be narrowed during the interview process based on experience, qualifications, location, and internal equity.

Responsibilities
  • Provide safe, quality patient care utilizing the nursing process.
  • Assess, guide, and facilitate workflow; assume charge nurse responsibilities when necessary.
  • Make staffing assignments based on patient acuity, staff competency, and activity levels.
  • Mentor staff, integrate new personnel, and serve as a clinical resource.
  • Monitor and evaluate patient care; ensure safety and compliance with standards.
  • Respond to patient and family concerns and report significant events.
  • Participate in performance appraisals and maintain staffing coverage.
  • Collaborate with bed placement and clinical teams for efficient patient flow.
Qualifications
  • Current RN licensure in Washington State.
  • BSN preferred; graduate nurse residency or six months' RN experience required.
  • AHA BLS certification required.
  • Two years' clinical nursing/leadership experience preferred for charge nurse roles.
  • Demonstrates leadership, communication, interpersonal, and electronic documentation skills.
Physical/Mental Demands

Must be able to safely handle patients and equipment, lift up to 40 pounds, and perform physical activities required for patient care, including standing, walking, stooping, and reaching.
