Job summary

Wachter, Inc. is looking for an experienced and licensed Commercial Security & Low Voltage Technician in Albany, NY. The technician will be responsible for installing, troubleshooting, and maintaining CCTV and networking systems, ensuring compliance with regulations.

Applicants should possess a valid state security license, a good driving record, and familiarity with cabling infrastructure. The role includes full-time work and offers a competitive wage of $25 - $35 per hour along with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Current, valid state Physical Security license and/or Life Safety license if applicable would be a plus.
• Valid driver's license with a clean record (no DUI/DWI within the last 3 years).
• Deep knowledge of cabling infrastructure, blueprints, site maps, and closeout documentation.
• Willing to get certified to operate a boom or scissor lift and comfortable working at heights.
• Own basic telecommunications tools, PPE, and have reliable transit for the initial training period.
• Flexible and fully available for project-related travel.

Responsibilities

• Install, troubleshoot, and maintain various commercial CCTV systems.
• Run low-voltage Cat 6 cabling through commercial buildings.
• Install conduit and drill concrete walls as required for cable pathways.
• Complete wiring, set up Main Distribution Frames (MDFs), and troubleshoot network switches.
• Conduct operational tests and troubleshoot new installations.
• Ensure all systems satisfy customer requirements and comply with codes.
• Assist Installation Team Leads and Project Managers.
