Job summary

ExxonMobil in Spring, TX seeks a Senior Optimization Engineer for the CCS team to shape optimization foundations for a growing carbon capture system on the U.S. Gulf Coast.

You will work with stakeholders to apply optimization tools to real-world decisions, deepen CCS value-chain understanding, and help develop software products that enable optimization across the organization. Qualifications

• Five or more years of experience developing mathematical optimization solutions.
• Strong Python programming skills with GurobiPy and Pandas.
• Excellent communication and ability to translate business problems into optimization terms.

Responsibilities

• Build optimization models for network expansion, CO₂ transport, storage allocation, and investment prioritization.
• Design diagnostics, validate formulations, and improve model performance and scalability.
• Collaborate with CCS stakeholders to apply models to strategic challenges and incorporate feedback into future capabilities.
• Work with data scientists to develop surrogate models representing complex system behavior.
• Integrate optimization models into robust, user-friendly tools across the CCS organization.
