Are you a subject matter expert in coal combustion residuals (CCR) looking to work on high-impact projects across the US?

A leading environmental and engineering consultancy is seeking a CCR Specialist to support and lead projects focused on the safe management, closure, and long-term stewardship of CCR sites. This role combines deep technical expertise with strategic consulting and regulatory insight to support clients in the power and energy sectors.

As a CCR Specialist, you will:

• Lead and support the assessment, design, permitting, and closure of CCR impoundments and landfills
• Provide regulatory compliance guidance under the EPA CCR Rule, including groundwater monitoring, reporting, and corrective action planning
• Oversee or support CCR cap-in-place, closure-by-removal, and beneficial reuse evaluations
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams including geotechnical, hydrogeological, and civil engineers
• Serve as a technical resource and advisor to clients navigating evolving federal and state CCR regulations

The successful candidate will bring;

• 8+ years of experience in environmental consulting, civil design, or geotechnical engineering with CCR-related project work
• Strong understanding of EPA CCR Rule, RCRA, and relevant state regulatory frameworks
• Experience with site investigations, stability analyses, groundwater modeling, or closure design
• PE, PG, or other relevant licensure preferred
• Strong writing, communication, and client-facing skills
