Job summary

UofL Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to support patient care in a high-volume clinical setting. You will perform triage, record vitals, and assist with injections and scheduling under physician orders.

Responsibilities include maintaining exam rooms, reconciling medication lists in the EHR, and ensuring HIPAA privacy and security throughout patient interactions. Prior MA certification is required; a degree is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Nationally recognized Medical Assistant certification required (CMA/CCMA/RMA).
• Medical assisting degree preferred.
• Minimum 1 year in a medical facility as MA; externship accepted.
• EKG, venipuncture and injection experience.

Responsibilities

• Obtain medical history and triage patients; record vitals.
• Reconcile medication list in EHR as directed.
• Respond to tasks promptly and accurately.
• Administer injections per physician order (Hepatitis A&B, PPD, flu).
• Schedule tests and procedures per physician orders.
• Maintain clean examination rooms and HIPAA compliant practices.
