Description

This position is between Dietary Aide and Cook. Responsibilities include following menus and patient diets accurately on the tray line and make-up line, proper cleaning and sanitation of dishes, pots, and pans, setting up and serving the cafeteria, and cashier duties. The role involves coordinating, administering, and supervising dietary service activities, ensuring compliance with all regulations, and performing duties of Cook and Dietary Aide.

Responsibilities
  • Review menus and patient diets, assemble food and supplies for salad and cold food prep.
  • Prepare food according to menu and kitchen processes, including salads, desserts, sandwiches, and specialty items.
  • Deliver nourishment and food carts to nursing units, ensure carts are returned, and prepare late trays.
  • Clean and sanitize dishes, cookware, and work areas following procedures.
  • Stock supplies and set up serving areas.
  • Serve patient trays, ensure food quality and temperature, and replenish items as needed.
  • Maintain records, reports, and files; alert supervisor to equipment and supply issues.
  • Receive deliveries and stock supplies accordingly.
  • Greet customers, handle payments, and maintain a clean work environment.
  • Label, date, and store food items per policies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, maintain confidentiality, and foster harmonious relationships.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma preferred; experience in food service is a plus.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English clearly.
  • Ability to make independent decisions and deal tactfully with others.
  • ServSafe certification preferred.
