Job summary

The GEO Group is seeking a CBT Facilitator to deliver cognitive behavioral curriculum in group settings and to support post-release planning for participants. You will facilitate evidence-based programs such as MRT, T4C, and LIB, coordinate schedules, maintain records, and refer participants to appropriate staff as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent certification required.
• Bachelor's degree in criminal justice, sociology, or a closely related field is desirable.
• Relevant teaching or counseling experience in a correctional setting preferred.
• Understanding of the Principles of Effective Intervention to reduce recidivism.
• Ability to work with a team of professionals and implement team strategies.
• Flexible, cooperative, and empathetic to staff and participants.
• Ability to prepare written reports and communicate effectively, and learn rules and security procedures.
• Ability to work with computers and necessary software used by the department.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates delivery of cognitive behavioral curriculum in a group setting focusing on motivation for change, social adjustment, personal management, social skills, cognitive restructuring, and problem-solving skills.
• Maintains class rosters, attendance records, and provides completion certificates for LIB, T4C, MRT and other curriculum.
• Supports the assessment of participant needs and makes referrals to appropriate staff.
• Aids participants in planning and developing post-release plans and encourages responsibility for post-release behaviors.
• Participates in orientation of participants regarding all behavioral treatment programs including T4C and MRT.
• Assists in coordinating participant program schedules to meet criminogenic needs.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
