Overview

The National Security Sector provides technology-enabled services and mission software capabilities for defense and intelligence customers in cyber, logistics, and security operations.

Position

We have an exciting opportunity for a Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear (CBRN) Subject Matter Expert for the CBRN Incident Response Program. The CBRN Incident Response Specialist will provide on-site support to a customer in the NOVA/Washington D.C. vicinity. The position will be based in Herndon, VA.

The Challenge

The successful candidate will perform various CBRN operational activities, including training development and execution, site assessments, and operation & maintenance of a wide array of COTS equipment for the customer’s enterprise. They will be involved in developing, executing, and training a new Program of Instruction (POI) tailored to this customer. As part of this team, they will liaise with internal and external stakeholders to address emerging threats or capabilities using their expertise.

The candidate will also support business development functions to assist the program manager in contract growth or act in the program manager’s place for key contract functions and deliverables.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Utilize knowledge in CBRN equipment logistics planning and operations, including research, requisition, accountability, maintenance, calibration, and sustainment.
  • Establish positive, productive relationships with clients based on expertise, quality, and interpersonal skills.
  • Instruct various CBRN tasks and procedures effectively to diverse audiences, adapting to their expectations.
  • Research, write, and develop client-specific procedures related to CBRN defense.
What Sets You Apart
  • Active Top-Secret security clearance with recent SSBI (within 36 months; up to 48 months waived).
  • Eligibility for access to Sensitive Compartmentalized Information (SCI).
  • Experience with handling, storing, transmitting, and transporting sensitive materials up to TS, SAP, and SCI levels.
  • 8+ years of documented CBRN incident response experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to develop and deliver high-level presentations confidently.
  • Minimum 6 years of CBRN incident response instructor experience.
  • Strong understanding of CBRN incident response fundamentals.
  • Knowledge of Commercial off-the-Shelf Equipment (COTS).
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Radiation Safety Officer Certification.
  • Meet OSHA 1910.120 and NFPA 600 'fit for duty' standards.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal oversight.

Additional Skills

  • Experience with government contracts and working in classified environments.
  • Familiarity with Tech Escort, NDT, CBIRF, HAMMER, PFPA, HazMat.
  • Operational emergency response experience, especially in HAZMAT environments.
  • Radiation Safety Officer Certification (preferred).

Pay Range

$89,700.00 - $162,150.00
