Job summary

Alabama Power seeks a Condition Based Maintenance Specialist at Plant Barry to apply predictive maintenance technologies and guide repair/replacement decisions. You will collect and analyze performance data, document results in Maximo, and communicate findings to plant leaders and planners.

Responsibilities include evaluating equipment with infrared thermography, motor analysis, vibration, and oil analysis; integrating data with PM results; and staying current with CBM developments to support

Qualifications

• Two-year technical degree preferred.
• Two years of prior maintenance/operations experience in a plant environment required.
• Knowledge of power plant fundamentals, maintenance, and operations.
• Proficient in computer usage and Maximo.
• Ability to work with a wide range of electronic field equipment and tools.
• Knowledge or experience in CBM technologies is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Complete CBM Certification in accordance with Southern Company Generation Standards.
• Periodically evaluate equipment performance using infrared thermography, motor analysis, vibration, and oil analysis.
• Integrate CBM data with operator rounds and PM/work order history to diagnose needs.
• Use Maximo to communicate, maintain, and review CBM examinations and maintenance recommendations.
• Guide maintenance strategy and provide operational guidance in CBM expertise area.
• Communicate with plant and corporate management and planners regarding operation and maintenance.
• Research CBM developments and participate in CBM user groups to share knowledge.
