Qualifications

Locations: Corpus Christi, TX | Kingsville, TX | Pensacola, FL | Meridian, MS

Principal Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  1. Performs oil analysis for assigned aircraft.
  2. Evaluates results, makes recommendations, and maintains up-to-date records. Performs oil analysis of transient aircraft as required and notifies home base personnel of results.
  3. Performs daily standardization and calibration of spectrometer using known standards and technical order procedures.
  4. Performs analysis of monthly correlation test samples to monitor lab accuracy and capability.
  5. Performs minor and periodic maintenance of the spectrometer as required.
  6. Coordinates special sampling requirements with customers to ensure proper sample submission.
  7. Completes and maintains accurate forms and reports.
  8. Uses charts and publications to evaluate metal wear concentrations and makes recommendations.
  9. Performs trend analysis and may perform collateral duty quality control inspections.
  10. May need to become Aircraft and Support Equipment Wheel and Tire qualified and certified.
  11. Must have personal tools and box within 30 days of hire.
  12. Familiar with applicable Navy instructions, maintenance manuals, and technical directives.
  13. Coordinates with supervisors and quality assurance to resolve serviceability or repair questions.
  14. May assist other mechanics during increased workload periods.
  15. Documents all work and maintains records per applicable standards.
  16. May perform off-site service, wear respirators, or perform NDI duties as required.
  17. Other duties as assigned, maintaining high ethical standards.
  18. Qualifications and Competencies:

  • Successful completion of Defense Joint Oil Analysis Program Course.
  • Minimum of three (3) years' experience as an oil analysis laboratory operator and evaluator.
  • Secret clearance or ability to obtain one.
  • Valid State Driver's License and ability to obtain/maintain CAC Card.
  • Certifications as required by the program and Navy instructions.
  • Ability to pass medical surveillance and respirator fit testing.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain DoD security clearance within 6 months.
  • Availability to work weekends, shifts, and overtime as needed.

Physical Demands and Environment:

  • Physical activities include climbing, standing, bending, kneeling, reaching, and walking; lifting objects up to 50 pounds.
  • Work environment may vary from comfortable to inclement weather, with exposure to noise, fumes, airborne particles, and electrical hazards.
