Essential Job Functions:
- Services aircraft, performing tasks such as directing aircraft on the ground, securing aircraft, operating service vehicles for fueling and maintenance, and checking for fuel contamination.
- Records servicing activities in maintenance logs and operates ground support equipment like electrical power supplies and engine starters.
- Examines tires for proper air pressure and condition, replacing defective tires as needed.
- Positions and removes boarding platforms for passenger loading/unloading.
- Loads and unloads luggage and cargo, cleans aircraft exteriors and interiors, and may install or retrieve parachute drag chutes.
- Performs scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on aircraft, supporting daily flight schedules.
- Must be licensed to operate Ground Support Equipment.
- Must be Plane Captain certified according to government standards for applicable aircraft types.
- Additional aircraft servicing tasks include guiding aircraft, fueling, maintenance record keeping, tire checks and replacements, passenger and cargo handling, and cleaning.
Training and Education Requirements:
- Military VMET or JST must be included with application if prior military service.
- Completion of Navy Skill Specialty Class "C" school in relevant systems or USMC/USCG equivalent.
- Minimum two years of aircraft maintenance experience, with at least one year on F-18 aircraft.
- Ability to perform pre/post flight inspections and aircraft servicing.
- Experience operating GSE support equipment.
- Desirable experience in aircraft structures, hydraulics, pneumatics, or egress systems.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver’s license and current secret clearance.
- Availability for any shift and potential travel.
