Description
- Possess in-depth knowledge of applicable maintenance/technical manuals, publications, special tools, and test equipment. Must be familiar with operational capabilities and limitations of electrical/avionics systems.
- Possess a high degree of expertise in aircraft electrical/avionics systems and crypto processes.
- Perform inspection, testing, troubleshooting, repair, modification, and rewiring of complex avionics/electrical systems and subsystems discrepancies and modifications.
- Possess thorough knowledge of corrosion detection, prevention, and treatment.
- Coordinate with customers, OEM, management, and work centers regarding aircraft modifications and repairs.
- Assist in P&E report preparation.
- Obtain aircraft turn-up certification as directed by management.
- Assist in removal and replacement of aircraft engines using appropriate support equipment.
- Work day shift, night shift, or weekends, and travel as part of maintenance recovery teams or detachments as required.
- Write with clarity and technical accuracy.
- Perform aircraft inventory, acceptance, and transfer inspections.
- Perform other tasks as directed by management.
- Provide technical assistance, guidance, and instruction as needed.
- Maintain records and complete maintenance forms.
- Perform daily duties related to this specialty.
- Practice good housekeeping, tool control, FOD awareness, and safety at all times.
- Assist in aircraft/equipment movement and foreign object prevention walks on the flight line.
- Comply with Hazardous Waste Program.
- Operate SE, flight line vehicles, and other support equipment as required.
- Qualified to perform corrosion detection, treatment, prevention, and documentation per instructions.
- Annotate maintenance actions in aircraft forms, VIDS/MAF, and NALCOMIS/OOMA.
- Understand basic supply procedures; assist with ordering parts, tools, materials, and equipment.
- Comply with safety rules and regulations applicable to the contract, facilities, and job.
- Participate in daily hanger cleanups.
Qualification Standards
- Three years of recent experience in aircraft maintenance, with last two years in military, civil service, or government aviation maintenance contractor roles.
- Completed approved training or courses as required.
- Experience in corrosion detection, treatment, and prevention.
