Job description

V2X is seeking a reliable Tool & Parts Attendant to support the Advanced Helicopter Training System at NAS Whiting Field. This position involves managing, tracking, and issuing tools.

Basic Function Summary:
  • Be familiar with Naval Aviation Supply System as it applies to Organizational, Intermediate, and Depot level maintenance.
  • Must have the ability to acquire working knowledge of all areas listed under "Essential Duties and Accountabilities" to facilitate logistics support.
  • May be required to use hazardous materials in performance of duties.
  • Must demonstrate sound mathematical computation ability.
  • Practical knowledge of a wide range of aircraft tools.
  • Manual dexterity for minor repairs to hand tools.
  • Ability to read, speak, write, and understand English.
  • Valid state operator's license and ability to pass government licensing requirements.
Essential Duties and Accountabilities:
  1. Perform work within the work center.
  2. Deliver tools, radios, and equipment requiring test, repair, or calibration.
  3. Maintain inventory and control of all property, tools, and test equipment daily.
  4. Store, issue, and order materials.
  5. Prepare and reproduce reports as necessary.
  6. Handle tool/equipment repair/disposal documentation.
  7. Maintain government furnished material readiness list (IMRL) and other inventory records.
  8. Issue and return tools and special equipment to stock.
  9. Engrave, etch, tag, or mark tools and equipment as needed.
  10. Make minor repairs to tools.
  11. Inspect tools and equipment for wear or defects and report damages.
  12. Input data for inventory and contract accountability.
  13. Prepare parts and supplies documentation.
  14. Perform parts runs and deliver documentation and reports.
  15. Use references like catalogs, manuals, and bulletins.
  16. Manage inventory levels, reorder, and update computer records.
  17. Retrieve repairable retrograde.
  18. Perform inventory functions and compile usage data.
  19. Maintain cleanliness of inventory areas.
  20. Search for lost tools.
  21. Adhere to FOD prevention rules.
  22. Control flight packet storage, issue, receipt, and inventory.
  23. Conduct weekly inventory and resolve discrepancies.
  24. Follow safety rules and regulations.
  25. Maintain work records and perform basic computer input.
  26. Assist in safety, security, and preservation of equipment.
  27. Perform other incidental duties as assigned.
Qualification Standards:
  • Two years of hands-on experience in tool room.
  • Hazardous Materials Certification.
  • Forklift Operator's License.
  • GSE Licensing.
Physical Demands/Environmental Conditions:

Work is typically in a shop environment, involving physical movements and postures. May require lifting objects up to 50 pounds.
