Job summary

DC Army National Guard seeks Cavalry Scout to act as the eyes and ears of the armored division, moving ahead to provide reconnaissance and report intelligence for decision-making. Duties include securing ammunition, operating weapons, and navigating during combat while maintaining concealment and camouflage.

Training is conducted primarily in the field with 16 weeks of One Station Unit Training; you will gain leadership, discipline, and readiness for civilian employment.

Qualifications

  • Must be ready to take on challenging assignments.
  • Must meet high physical and mental fitness standards.
  • Military enlistment in the Army National Guard is required.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct reconnaissance ahead of the unit and relay vital information to leadership.
  • Operate individual and crew‑served weapons as required.
  • Navigate terrain and maintain situational awareness on the battlefield.
