Job summary

Adams Land and Cattle offers a summer internship (May-August) in Broken Bow, NE. Interns gain hands-on experience across processing, feeding, cattle health, movement and load-out, with company-sponsored housing during the term.

Mentored by industry professionals, you’ll shadow teams, attend lunch-and-learn events and participate in company activities. Ideal candidates have beef QA exposure, strong communication, and the ability to work in varied teams and weather.

Qualifications

• Beef Quality Assurance experience.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to adapt to multiple teams and supervisors/managers.
• Basic mechanical skills and heavy equipment experience preferred.
• Basic computer skills required.
• Commitment to safety and quality culture.

Responsibilities

• Assist in all facets of feedlot cattle operations (processing, feeding, health, load out).
• Administer implants, tags, vaccines, topicals and antibiotics per protocol.
• Operate equipment safely and deliver precise rations.
• Understand cattle anatomy to diagnose and treat when needed.
• Assist with cattle verification and moves within the feedlot.
• Maintain feedlot facilities, clean areas, check water tanks and gates, operate heavy machinery.
• Follow AQA and safety guidelines in cattle handling areas.
