Job summary

Friona Industries LP seeks a Doctoring Crew member to support daily health and welfare of feedyard cattle in Sublette, KS. You will work with the team and veterinarian to provide high-quality care and maintain health records.

Responsibilities include administering treatments, maintaining facilities, recording mortality and pen data, and ensuring safety compliance in varied weather conditions.

Qualifications

• Basic Knowledge of livestock health and habits.
• Knowledge of fundamental animal health programs.
• Understand and apply humane handling policies and procedure of livestock.
• Basic computer knowledge for record keeping and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to Beef Quality Assurance standards and practices.
• Properly administering prescribed treatment and medication to livestock.
• Properly handling of all medications and medical supplies associated with feedyard cattle health requirements.
• Maintain related equipment and facilities utilized by feedyard livestock.
• Responsible for determining mortality and recording information in the feedyard animal health records.
• Accountable for recording the pen number and ear tag number in the feedyard record system.
• Maintain Accurate records and deliver proper notification of all pertinent data.
• Recognize sick cattle and determine and aid in the diagnosis of illness.
• Maintain sanitary and clean working facilities.
• Clean and maintain sick pen water troughs daily.
• Continual observance and adherence of all safety policies and procedures.
• Promote, support, and participate in all company policies, procedures and programs.
• Other duties and job assignments are necessary for feedyard effectiveness.
