Job summary

Diocese of Austin Catholic Schools seeks a Substitute Teacher to support classroom instruction and student learning in a Catholic school setting. You will assist the teacher, prepare materials, and supervise students, while upholding the mission and policies of the Diocese.

Expected duties include maintaining confidentiality, communicating with families, and using technology to support lessons. Training in EIM will be completed within specified timeframes, with ongoing professional conduct

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• No prior teaching experience required; on-the-job training provided.
• Must complete Ethics and Integrity in Ministry (EIM) training within first week and EIM basic abuse prevention within 30 days.

Responsibilities

• Assist classroom teacher in guiding and evaluating student learning.
• Prepare instructional materials and bulletin boards as directed by the teacher and principal.
• Supervise students during class, lunch, recess, and transitions.
• Maintain confidentiality and uphold school policies and Catholic mission.
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff.
