Job summary

St Andrew The Apostle Catholic Church Gladstone is seeking a Teacher Aide/Paraprofessional to assist teachers in providing academic, behavioral, and spiritual support in a Catholic school setting. You will collaborate with the teacher to promote an inclusive classroom where all students are valued and guided by Catholic teachings.

Qualifications

• Practicing Catholic preferred or commitment to supporting the mission of Catholic education.
• Complete and maintain diocesan safe environment expectations.
• High school diploma or equivalent; Associate’s degree or Paraprofessional Certificate preferred.
• Experience working with children in educational or pastoral settings preferred.
• Understanding of child development and ability to adapt to various learning styles.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with classroom teacher or inclusion specialist to implement instructional strategies and accommodations.
• Conduct small group or one-on-one instruction under supervision.
• Oversee student engagement and task completion during instruction.
• Collect data on student progress and behavior as directed.
• Update documentation logs or notes as requested.
• Organize instructional materials to support differentiated instruction.
• Guide students in developing independence and responsibility.
• Communicate professionally with students, teachers, and families under supervision.
• Maintain a safe, respectful learning environment.
• Support Catholic virtues and discipline strategies.
