Catholic Religious Community (MO) – Evening Cook

A Catholic religious community in a suburb of St. Louis, MO, is seeking a dedicated and experienced personal chef to prepare dinner for six people. The role involves menu creation, shopping, and nutritious meal preparation, maintaining kitchen cleanliness, and ensuring dietary needs are met. The position requires 12-15 hours weekly, Monday through Thursday.

Responsibilities:
  1. Prepare and serve evening meals for 6-8 people, considering dietary restrictions.
  2. Set the table and serve meals promptly at 6:00 p.m.
  3. Maintain cleanliness of kitchen, pantry, and dining areas.
  4. Shop for ingredients and household needs regularly.
  5. Organize refrigerators, freezers, and cabinets.
  6. Assist with social event preparations and larger group meals as needed.
  7. Complete payroll timesheets biweekly.
Qualifications:
  • Experience as a personal chef or similar culinary role.
  • Ability to modify recipes for health needs.
  • Proficiency in kitchen sanitation and safety.
  • Ability to follow instructions in English.
  • Valid driver’s license and insured vehicle.
Physical Demands:
  • Lift packages, stand for long periods, and manipulate kitchen tools.
  • Use a step ladder to access high cabinets.
Reporting and Accommodations:

Reports to the Kitchen Coordinator and ultimately to the community director. Reasonable accommodations available for lifting up to 20 pounds.
