Job summary

St. Catherine of Siena School in Seattle is seeking a passionate educator to join from October to March 2027 to teach middle school math, provide math support, and lead a middle school elective.

The role requires a Catholic education mindset, flexibility across grade levels, and strong classroom management. The candidate will teach Pre-Algebra, 7th grade Algebra, 8th grade Algebra, and 8th grade Geometry, with a focus on clear mathematical reasoning and real-world applications.

Qualifications

• Required: Bachelor's degree in Education, Mathematics, or a related field (Master's preferred).
• Required: Washington State teaching certificate or is in progress toward earning it.
• Preferred: Catholic with knowledge of Catholic doctrine and traditions.
• Required: Experience teaching middle school or high school math.
• Strong background in middle school math instruction and intervention strategies.
• Ability to differentiate for a range of learning needs.
• Ability to create a welcoming, faith-filled learning environment.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Pre-Algebra: Focus on foundational skills for algebra readiness.
• 7th Grade Algebra: Graphing, equations, functions, slope, and growth/decay concepts.
• 8th Grade Algebra: Linear/nonlinear relationships, exponents, factoring, quadratic concepts.
• 8th Grade Geometry: Transformations, proofs, trigonometry basics, coordinate geometry.
• Middle school electives and Advisory sessions focusing on executive functioning and social-emotional skills.
